What Is Preferred Environment?

Preferred Environment lets you override the time of day and weather on your screen. Hate the dark? Lock it to permanent noon. Tired of fog ruining your view? Turn it off. Want a rainbow? Sure, crank that up too.

These changes are completely personal — only you see them. Other players still see the actual server time and weather. It's purely visual and doesn't affect gameplay for anyone else. Purchase the perk from the /shop under the Perks category, then use /env to open the settings menu.

What You Can Control

☀️
Time of Day
Set any time you want — permanent daylight, golden hour, dusk, midnight, or anything in between.
🌫️
Fog
Reduce or remove fog entirely for maximum visibility. Or crank it up for atmosphere.
🌧️
Rain
Disable rain on your screen, or make it pour. Your choice — it's your weather.
🌈
Rainbow
Turn up the rainbow intensity. Because why not? It's your world.
👁️ The most popular setup is permanent noon + zero fog + no rain — maximum visibility at all times. Perfect for monument runs, base building, and farming without squinting through the dark.

FAQ

No — your environment settings are completely personal. Other players still see the real server time and weather. Only your screen is affected.
Visibility-wise, yes — you can see clearly at all times which helps with monument runs and spotting NPCs. Since Markiii-Rust is PVE, there's no unfair advantage over other players. It's a quality of life perk.
Yes — your environment preferences are saved to the server. Log off and come back, and your settings will still be active. No need to reconfigure each time.
Yes — open /env and there's a reset option to return to the default server environment. You can toggle between custom and default anytime.
No meaningful impact. The plugin overrides client-side environment variables — it doesn't add any extra rendering load. If anything, removing fog and rain might slightly improve FPS.
