What Is NoDurability?

In vanilla Rust, every weapon, tool, and piece of armour gradually loses condition as you use it. Eventually they break and need to be repaired at a workbench — costing resources and reducing the item's max durability over time.

With NoDurability, that's gone. Your items never lose condition. Guns stay at full, tools stay sharp, armour stays intact — no repairs, no workbench trips, no wasted resources. Just use your gear and forget about durability entirely.

What's Covered & Exceptions

Almost everything is covered — but there are 3 specific items that still lose durability normally, even with VIP.

✓ No Durability Loss
All guns & weapons
Melee weapons & swords
Hatchets & pickaxes
Bows & crossbows
All armour & clothing
Hazmat suits
Diving gear
Hammer & building tools
✗ Still Loses Durability
Keycards (Green, Blue, Red)
Jackhammer
Chainsaw
These three items are excluded intentionally for game balance. Keycards are meant to be consumable, and the Jackhammer/Chainsaw are already very powerful gathering tools.
⚠️ Keycards, Jackhammer, and Chainsaw will still break with normal use even if you have VIP. Plan accordingly — bring spares for monument runs.

FAQ

NoDurability prevents items from losing further condition — it doesn't repair items that are already damaged. If you pick up an item at 50% condition, it'll stay at 50% but won't go lower. You can still repair items at a workbench if needed.
Yes — NoDurability applies to all items regardless of whether they have EpicLoot buffs, custom skins, or special properties. Your enhanced gear stays at full condition.
The Jackhammer and Chainsaw are already the most efficient gathering tools in the game. Making them indestructible would remove any resource cost from gathering entirely, which would unbalance the economy. They still lose durability at the normal rate.
Keycards are designed as consumable items — they're meant to be used up when running monuments. Making them permanent would remove a key part of the monument gameplay loop. You'll still need to find or buy new cards.
In vanilla Rust, damaged weapons deal slightly less damage. Since NoDurability keeps your weapons at full condition, they'll always deal maximum damage — which is a nice side benefit.
