What Is DroneBattles?
DroneBattles is a custom Markiii-Rust combat event. You purchase a drone beacon from the /shop using RP, then throw it like a supply signal. A massive, heavily armed combat drone spawns in the sky and begins attacking you. Destroy it to claim its loot crates.
There are 5 difficulty tiers — Easy through Nightmare — each with more health, deadlier weapons, and better loot. The drone fires bullets, rockets, napalm, Bradley shells, and at higher tiers even homing missiles and tesla strikes. A real-time map marker tracks it, kills are broadcast server-wide, and the fastest kill times are saved to a per-tier leaderboard.

How to Deploy
- 🛒Open /shop and buy a Drone Battle beacon for the tier you want, using RP.
- 🎯Throw the beacon like a supply signal. It has a 3-second fuse before the drone deploys.
- 🛸The drone spawns at altitude and begins orbiting and attacking. A map marker tracks its position.
- ⚔️Shoot it down! Use guns, turrets, SAMs — whatever you've got. The drone fights back hard.
- 📦When destroyed, loot crates drop at its location. Loot is squad-locked — only you and your team can access it.
You get a combat briefing in chat when you deploy, with difficulty tips and recommended gear. Read it — especially on Hard and above!

🔥 Deals DOUBLE DAMAGE to all aerial targets
An extremely rare custom M249 that drops only from Hard, Elite, and Nightmare tier kills. It has a unique skin and deals 2× damage to all drones and aerial targets. When one drops, it's announced server-wide. This weapon cannot be reskinned, recycled, or sold — it's a trophy.
Drop chances are incredibly low — 0.03% on Hard, 0.04% on Elite, 0.05% on Nightmare. If you get one, everyone on the server will know about it.

The leaderboard tracks fastest kill times per tier. Beat the current record and it's broadcast to the whole server — time to flex!

Tips & FAQ
Level up Drone Slayer and Drone Armor in your SkillTree for bonus damage to drones and damage reduction from drones. Up to +10% each at max rank.
Guns with high fire rate work well — LMGs, assault rifles, and SAM sites. The drone is high up, so accuracy matters. Build a tower to get closer to it. The legendary Bane of the Sky M249 does double damage.
The server is configured to prevent collateral base damage from drone attacks. Your structures are safe — the drone's weapons only damage players.
Each tier has a time limit (15-30 minutes). If you don't kill it in time, it retreats and no loot drops. A message is broadcast to the server. Your beacon is consumed either way.
No — loot crates are squad-locked. Only you, your team, friends, and clanmates can access the crates that drop from your drone kill.
Yes — anyone can shoot the drone. The kill is credited to whoever deals the final blow, and the damage breakdown shows each player's contribution in chat. Loot access is still restricted to the deployer's squad.
On Elite and Nightmare tiers, the drone can detect and shoot down incoming rockets/missiles with a 60% chance. This makes SAM sites less effective at higher tiers — you'll want gun-based DPS.
There's a 30-minute cooldown between deployments and a daily cap of 8 deploys. You can only have 1 drone active at a time. The cooldown starts when you throw the beacon.
